- “THE FIRST GRADER” will premiere at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.
- Writing duo Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais have been tapped to adapt the remake of the untitled Australian comedy as a starring vehicle for Will Smith. Dick and Ian's credits include THE BANK JOB, ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, FLUSHED AWAY and THE COMMITMENTS.
- SSP has partnered up with Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment and legendary Hollywood producer Mace Neufeld (INVICTUS, PATRIOT GAMES, THE SAINT, THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER) to produce the remake of an Australian comedy which is currently being kept under wraps.
- Filming has wrapped on “THE FIRST GRADER” and is currently in Post. Alex Heffes (THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND, STATE OF PLAY) is on board to compose the film. For Kimani Nganga Maruge - Rest in Peace.
- VALENTINE'S DAY scribe Katherine Fugate has come on board to write the romantic comedy “JUST THE BEGINNING” for SSP and Oscar nominated producer Gil Netter (THE BLIND SIDE, MARLEY & ME). The project is being produced as a starring vehicle for Hilary Swank.
- SSP won the option to Daoud Hari's acclaimed best selling memoir "The Translator: A Tribesman's Memoir of Darfur" which is currently in development.
- SSP will develop the feature film “GREEN FIELDS” based on the award winning documentary “YIDDISH THEATRE: A LOVE STORY”. The story is currently being kept under wraps, but it will center on the Yiddish Theatre in New York City. The documentary's acclaimed Israeli writer/director Dan Katzir and writer/producer Ravit Markus will Executive Produce.
