- Dale Launer, the brilliant comedic writer behind such hits as MY COUSIN VINNY, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, LOVE POTION #9, BLIND DATE and RUTHLESS PEOPLE, is attached to adapt the German romantic comedy “JUST THE BEGINNING” to be directed by Howard Deutch, who's newest comedy MY BEST FRIEND'S GIRL with Kate Hudson and Dane Cook is being released by Lions Gate in September.
- SSPI has partnered up with QuasiWorld Entertainment
to produce “THE GOOD DOCTORS”. Quasiworld's latest film “AMERICAN TEEN” is currently in theaters having been released by Paramount Vantage; It won the award for Best Director at Sundance 2008.
- SSPI will develop the feature film “GREEN FIELDS” based on the award winning documentary “YIDDISH THEATRE: A LOVE STORY”. The story is currently being kept under wraps, but it will center on the Yiddish Theatre in New York City. The documentary's acclaimed Israeli writer/director Dan Katzir and writer/producer Ravit Markus will Executive Produce.
- Academy Award nominated writer Jeffrey Caine
is on board to re-write “BEYOND THE SUN”. Jeffrey wrote THE CONSTANT GARDNER which won Rachel Weisz a Best Actress Oscar and GOLDENEYE, the first Bond film to star Pierce Brosnan.
- Luis Mandoki
is on board to direct “BEYOND THE SUN”. Luis' credits include such hits as MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE with Kevin Cosnter and Paul Newman, ANGEL EYES with Jennifer Lopez and Jim Caviezel, WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN with Meg Ryan and Andy Garcia, TRAPPED with Charlize Theron and Kevin Bacon, WHITE PALACE with Susan Sarandon and the award winning INNOCENT VOICES.
- SSPI has begun research and development on their newest project “THE BENGHAZI SIX” returning from Bulgaria where they met and interviewed the medics, their family members, government officials and lawyers involved in the case, collecting over 50 hours of footage.
- After nearly 9 years in a Libyan prison, all 6 medics on which “THE BENGHAZI SIX” will be based, are free and back in Bulgaria.
